What you need to get started:
- A Practice PRO membership (please contact support@practice.do to upgrade)
- Your public profile page open on practice (example: app.practice.do/me/ahmed)
- Your DNS / website host / registrar open in another tab ( example: domains.google.com, godaddy.com, namecheap.com)
Steps:
Once you have these pages open, let's start with your practice public profile:
1. Click on edit profile in the top right corner
2. Click on Domains in the menu that pops up
3. Click on connect domain
1. Decide whether you want to connect your domain to practice or use a subdomain
2. Connecting your domain is the most common option, this means connecting a site like google.com, whereas creating and connecting a subdomain would be something like practice.google.com
3. Type in your domain name in the domain name input, make sure to leave off the www. if you don't want your clients to have to enter that (so just enter newmediterranea.com / your site) or if you do want the www, make sure to enter that here (so just enter www.newmediterranea.com / your site)
4. Click next in the top right corner
Once you arrive on the final screen within Practice, you'll see the instructions for inputting the necessary information into your domain registrar / website host / DNS:
1. Go to your DNS / Domain Registrar / Host (example: domains.google.com, godaddy.com, namecheap.com)
2. Go to the resources / records / DNS area:
1. Click on create new record or manage records (this part may differ depending on your registrar but its still the same pattern and goal, you need to make a new record)
2. Paste in the information the final Practice screen told you to add:
1. Leave the host name / name blank if you decide you don't want the www. prefix at the beginning (so it would just be newmediterranea.com / your site) or if you do want the www, make sure to enter www into the host name /name, no dot necessary (so it would be www.newmediterranea.com / your site)
2. Make sure the record type / type is A
3. For TTL you can leave it blank or choose the most common option or 1 hour
4. For Data enter what the practice screen says to enter for value, which should look like the above
5. Click save on your DNS / registrar / website host
6. Go back to Practice and click save in the top right corner
7. On the final Practice screen, select the radio button next to your domain and click save in the top right corner
And you're done! Give it about 5-10 minutes, and you should notice that when you go to copy links to your schedulers, forms, or packages from the chainlink icons within Practice, they now have your website instead of app.practice.do
